We are created to worship God

i have heard people talk about the purpose of life. At church, It has become a common topic in the sermon, even it becomes one of the best seller book.

The first question has usually been asked is 'Why are we here?' or 'why are we created?'. This question will be directing us to find out the purpose of our lives.

I learn one of the purpose of man's life is worshiping God.

Moses had been called by God to deliver the people of Israel from the slavery. God says "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘Let my people go, so that they may worship me”’ (Exodus 9:1).

Pope Benedict XVI (when he was still Cardinal Ratzinger) wrote, ‘The only goal of the Exodus is shown to be worship… The land is given to the people to be a place for worship of the true God… the freedom to give right worship to God, appears, in the encounter with Pharaoh, to be the sole purpose of the Exodus, indeed, its very essence.’

Moses and people of Israel, at the end, went to the land where they could worship and serve the true God.

The land we live in is the one God dwells in.

"Where we breath, there we worship Him"

One Verse

i read about a person, his name is Lord Longford (1905–2001). He was a phenomena figure who spent much of his life visiting prisoners. Yet, no one doubt his compassion and his faithfulness to God and to those he visited.

When he died, the former prisoners joined hundreds of mourners to say farewell to the man who had spent his life for them.

On his last words he asked his wife, ‘You know what the most important quotation from the Bible is?’ He answered his own question by quoting the words of Jesus: ‘I was in prison and you came to visit me’ (Matthew 25:36).

One verse of the Scriptures could make people better when it is done faithfully in daily activity.

Being Victorious over the Critics

Have you ever been criticized by someone or people around?
Or maybe people are judging you to the wrong thing you made?

How would you respon to the critics that might people look down on you.

I have learnt a lesson how to be victorious of the critics.

Matthew 22:23-32.
1. Finding the motives of the questions.
2. Telling the facts.

Jesus' opponents gave the question to Jesus with three questions: 3T (Trap. Trick, and Test question)

One of Jesus' opponents were Sadducees. They come along with a trick question about a man with seven wives. ( it is because the Sadducees didn’t believe in the resurrection.

and Jesus replies, ‘You are wrong because you do not know the Scriptures and the power of God'. At this point, Jesus uses the Pentateuch (The book of Genesis, Exodus, leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy) as the first five books of the Bible that Sadducees trusted, to show that God is ‘not the God of the dead but of the living'.

He does this by quoting God’s words to Moses at the burning bush in Exodus 3:6: ‘I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob’ (Matthew 22:32a).

When Moses heard those words, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had been dead for hundreds of years, but God did NOT say ‘I was their God’ but ‘I am their God'. It refers to His existence as a living God through the life of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The Qualities of Joseph

On Genesis 37, 39 - 50 we have known or heard the story of Joseph. 12 chapters are telling about his journey of life is a big deal for us to know him more and why God was with him in every part of his life.

On Genesis 37, Joseph dreamed of the his greatness. He was seventeen years old when the dreams came to him. He told his dreams to his brothers that they will bow down before him, and it displeased them. If someone tells us about his achievements and asks to acknowledge him, dont we think he is boasting himself before us? personally i might say 'yes, he is arrogant'. We have learnt on his age Joseph did not speak wisely and was immature.

But God prepared and trained joseph. When he was thrown into a pit, sold to the strangers, and jailed, God be with him. For all he had been through, God has trained his qualities.

Jailed must have been a frustrating place for a talented man, like Joseph. He did not know whether he would ever be released.

Finally, Pharaoh did not know the interpretation of his dreams, and he needed someone to interprete them. The cupbearer of Pharaoh remembered Joseph who had interpreted his dream. Pharaoh summoned him and asked Joseph if he could do it. Joseph said, 'i cannot do it, but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desire' We see how Joseph has grown in wisdom.

His action here is a mixture of humality and confudence (two qualities that do not often go together). This is the humility abd confidence we need when faced with the life.

'I can't.. but God can and will.'

Holy Bible and Faith

happy sunday,

hope this post finds you well.
i am texting it on my bedroom, knowing it's the time to read the Bible.
On its cover, it's called Holy Bible. Why is it called Holy Bible when so much lust, greed, and war are found in it? It is because Bible tells the truth. It tells about God, about man, and about devil. Furthermore, It tells about the Truth itself, Jesus, He was the Truth, and the Truth will set us free.

How do we know and believe the truth will set us free? By faith. and It's a gift. People might be wandering in the quest of the truth, and at some point, knowing it as impossible as grasping a wind.
Ask and it will be given to you. because it's a gift and it's given by God for free. Jesus saves us from the sin of the world, and those who believe in Him will be set free from sins.

And when the time we have received Faith, It's looked like a seed. It needs water and sun to make it rooted and grows.

i've learned 3 things faith can be grown by.
1. Doctrine.
Faith comes by hearing and the hearing of God's Word. No matter what doctrine we hold.

2. Worship. Praise Him on a highest place, giving thank to Him for everything we have been through, having communion and fellowship with God and others in the church or the small group.

3. Morality. Knowing how to do good things, and learn how to be a role model for people around in words and deeds (1 Timothy 4:12).
